Flaming Geyser ranger John Ernster had previously mentioned that they hadn’t been receiving any violation reports so the club members discussed the topic of violation reports and noted that there hadn’t been any to file.
The park rangers had mentioned that the park was going to be hosting a bicycle race on March 26th and that the parking lot will have limited parking for the flyers during that time.
Club president Chris Koch reported that he had previously talked to the park rangers about replacing the fence and the rangers said that since there isn’t any digging allowed the fence won’t be replaced at this time.
The members discussed plans for several fun flys for the upcoming summer months of June, July, and August. June 4th was one of the dates mentioned to host a fly-in.
Rob Clement notified the club that the rangers are requesting the club members to modify and improve the plywood board on the parking lot side of the board. The rangers would like more pictures, posters, and club banner or sign put up so that the public can get a better idea of what the club does.

October 13th 2015 meeting minutes –
7:00 – meeting called to order by Chris Koch, acting president. There were 10 members present. Chris welcomed some new members and talked about a raffle that would be held at the end of the meeting.
Brought up for discussion was the idea of having club dues for next year. The club members talked of the need to start club dues in January of 2016, how to collect the dues, who will collect the dues, and that there shouldn’t be any dues for youth flyers (under 18). The members present also proposed and voted to amend the by-laws to allow dues for the club for 2016. The general consensus of the members present is that we don’t know how much the state is going to charge us for usage of the Geyser field for 2016. (2015 it was just under $350.00 and that was just the filing fee). Also the meeting members discussed that it would be much easier to collect dues at the beginning of the year with the issuance of yearly stickers rather than try to collect dues later in the year. It was suggested that club dues for 2016 would be around $20.00 and it was also suggested that if the funds aren’t needed to be allotted to the state that we could redirect them back to the membership by way of raffle prizes at club fly-ins.
Treasurer Larry Gross was absent due to a recent surgery so Rob Clement, club secretary reported on the treasurers report. We had a $100.00 donation recently so our account is now at $1224.46.
Safety Coordinator – Terry Carpine has notified the club that he is not going to be staying on as the safety coordinator for 2016. We need someone to volunteer as safety coordinator for 2016.
Subsequent to the meeting, the club officers decided that it was prudent to add one more officer to the list of authorized users of the club's banking account. That person will be Rob Clement, secretary.
Nominations for Club officers for 2016 –
President – Chris Koch
Vice President – Vladimir Karasek
Treasurer – Larry Gross
Safety Coordinator - Open
Secretary – Rob Clement

September 8th 2015 meeting minutes
7:00 – meeting called to order by Chris Koch. There were 10 members present. Chris notified the club members present that James Turner was going to be moving to California and was stepping down from the office of President of the club. Chris is now president of the club, the club will take nominations for officers at next months meeting October 13th.
Chris Koch mentioned that he had talked to Scott Schreiber about the Green River college RC Drone studies course and they are working on funding for the course.
The club discussed the current state operating agreement. The agreement grants us permission to use the field. We are not sure how much the costs will be next year in 2016. It was noted by Larry Gross (treasurer) that it is imperative that all persons flying at the field must have AMA coverage to fly at the field. This is covered in our agreement with state and is very important in order to use the field.
Larry reported that we currently have $1144.00 in the club bank account.
Safety – Terry Carpine (safety coordinator) reported that some of the people that have crashed out of the flight boundaries haven’t been filling out the violation reports. It was also noted that not all fliers were placing their AMA cards on the board.
General – a lively discussion was brought up about whether or not to have the club members pay dues for 2106. It was noted that if there any major repairs needed on the mower or if the mower was stolen that we wouldn’t have enough in the bank to replace it. Also that we need to get a couple of new weed eaters.
In closing – A vote was taken to discuss changing the by-laws in order to allow the club to charge dues for the coming year. It can be brought up as a proposal at the October meeting but a vote would have to be at the November meeting. This would allow time for all interested club members time to discuss any changes and vote accordingly.

The newly posted document titled "Geyser_ByLaws_Proposed_2015-04-06.pdf" contains changes that are in red font. The yellow highlighted sentences are new to the document. Deletions are shown as strike-through. There were a number of minor corrections of spelling, grammar, and punctuation that I made throughout the document. These are not necessarily highlighted, since they did not change the meaning or intent of the document.
If the club makes a formal agreement with Green River Community College to host students in a drone/multi-rotor course, then that might require an added paragraph or two. We'll fly over that river when we get to it.
Flaming Geyser Flyers Meeting February 10th 2015 @ Godfathers Pizza
7:00 Meeting called to order by Chris Koch (Vice President) – there were 19 persons present. Terry Carpine (safety coordinator) reported that there were no safety incidents to report since the last club meeting.
Larry Gross (treasurer) reported that the club bank account had been transferred from Columbia Bank to BECU bank due to increasing monthly charges. $809.00 was transferred to BECU. There were $99.00 in donations in January and the current balance is $836.34.
A discussion was opened about a recent email from Washington state regarding the club having to have a lease to operate at the park. The topic was discussed in length for about an hour. Henry Cannon made a motion to submit the paper work to the state to start the process for the lease. The motion was accepted. Larry Gross notified us that the cost to submit the paper work to the state was going to be $340.00.
Former Flaming Geyser president Scott Schreiber spoke to inform us that the Green River Community college is planning to offer a course on drones / quads. He said the college is waiting on the FAA before moving forward with the course but if all goes well the college would like to make a proposal to the club about using the Geyser field for a training site. He stated that what this could mean is that the college might be able to help us with some of the money that it would take to lease the Geyser field. Scott also stated that the college is willing to work with the club so that any flying by the college students would not infringe on regular club flying.
The meeting was adjourned at about 8:00 pm.
